2017 Tigers: The Tigers split a series with Morehead State after dropping a midweek non-conference contest against Chattanooga. Lauren Woodard earned the win against MSU as she needed just 47 pitches, 39 for strikes, to dispose of the Eagles in game two, as the Tigers picked up a five inning, 10-2, victory. The Tigers have swiped 56 bases as a team this season which is the third best in program history. The 2017 squad is three stolen bases behind the 2009 Tigers and 19 behind the top spot, set by the 2000 team.

Alyssa Richards shares the lead with Davis as she has driven in 15 runs while batting .239 with six doubles and five dingers. In the circle, Danielle Liberatore is 4-7 with a 4.01 ERA and has struck out 104 batters in 82.0 innings. Leigh Thomas is the second part of the Eagles one-two punch with a 4-10 record and a 4.24 ERA. Thomas has 45 punch outs in 79.1 innings of work.

West provides support for the Gamecocks in the circle with a stingy 2.24 ERA and a .221 average against. West has struck out 88 batters in 84.1 innings and is 10-4 with a save.
