Softball Prepares for 2014 Season
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State softball program is less than two weeks away from the start of the 2014 season. Head coach Jeff Dabney and the Tigers have been at full go for over a week in preparation for the upcoming campaign.
TSU has taken advantage of the indoor hitting facility, as well as the indoor athletics facility, which houses the Tigers football team. The colder weather has forced the team inside for most of the early training, but the two facilities have allowed the team to work on all aspects of the game, including live hitting.
The team took advantage of a pair of days in the 50’s, including Sunday, to step onto Tiger Field to work out on the dirt. The Tigers will open the season in the Music City Classic on Saturday, Feb. 8 as they take on #34 Virginia Tech and cross-town foe Lipscomb at Bisons field.
Junior Tayler Shimizu and sophomore Kiarra Freeman speak to about the start of spring workouts.
