Six Tigers named to NFCA All-America Scholar Team

The Tennessee State University softball team had six players named as 2011 NFCA All-America Scholar Athletes. Brittany Davis, Ashley Haynes, Ashley Heinaman, Aisha Walker, Susie Burke and Kelly Troglin were honored among the 4,000 student-athletes representing 707 different academic institutions.

The award is given to any player who achieved a 3.50 grade point average or higher during the 2010-11 academic year. Davis, an Arts & Sciences major, along with fellow seniors Burke and Troglin, both HPSS majors, received the honor as juniors in 2010-11. Haynes (Nursing), Heinaman (Art) and Walker (Criminal Justice) were all acknowledged during their freshman year.

The Tigers squad completed the 2010-11 academic year with a 3.190 team GPA.
