Tigers square off against Austin Peay

Nashville, Tenn. --- On Thursday, April 7, Tennessee State will host Austin Peay at Tiger Field. This will be the Tiger's fourth straight home game of a seven game home slate.

The Game
Tennessee State (9-30, 3-13 OVC) will continue their conference slate with a visit from Austin Peay. The Tigers and the Govs square off Thursday, April 7 at 5:00 p.m.
Tennessee State will take on Austin Peay (8-25, 3-10 OVC) for the third time this season. The last time these two teams met they split a doubleheader; the Tigers won game one, 1-0, before dropping the second game, 8-0.
Austin Peay is coming off a recent victory over Southeast Missouri State. The Govs were led by an impressive performance at the mound by junior Ashley Bodla. Bolda (2-5) pitched a complete game, allowing only one run, leading the Lady Govs to a 2-1 win. Austin Peay is led by Lauren de Castro at the plate. Lauren is hitting .295 on the year with three home runs and 14 RBI on 28 hits.

The Lady Govs are scheduled to host SEC member Kentucky at home on Wednesday in a doubleheader before making the short trip to Nashville on Thursday.
Last Time Out
The Tigers split the first two games of their three game series with Eastern Kentucky this weekend, winning game one 7-3 before falling to the Colonels 4-0, in extra innings after a four-run eighth inning by EKU. The Tigers dropped the final game 12-7.

In the Tigers' victory, Kelly Troglin led TSU offensively as she hit 3-4 at the plate along with two RBI. Jalisa Bradley also contributed, only recording one hit, but making it count by hitting a two-run homerun, her team best, fourth of the season. Throughout the series, Troglin was the most consistent at the plate as she went 5-7, knocking in four runs.

The Tigers look to contiune their recent trend of run scoring as they prepare for Austin Peay. TSU scored only a single run in the two previous games against Austin Peay this season.
