Tigers Go 1-4 at UCF Invitational with Loss to Syracuse

Orlando, Fla. – The Tigers were unable to snap a three-game skid in the last day of competition in the UCF Invitational losing to Syracuse, 11-0 in five innings Sunday morning. The loss gives the Tigers their fourth straight going 4-4 on a neutral site this season.

TSU (7-7) hit a season-low .118 at the plate going 2-for-17 giving up the most runs on the season. Caitlin Eaton (4-2) gave up three earned runs and nine hits for her second loss on the season.

Melanie Cruz (1-of-2) and Royesha Goodman (1-of-2) tallied the only hits for TSU. Syracuse (9-4) scored 8 runs in the second inning fr a commanding lead while scoring one run in the third and two in the fourth.

For the tournament, the Tigers hit .301 with 25 RBI's. Eaton posted a 3.50 ERA with 14 innings pitched with 16 strikeouts. At the plate, Eaton averaged .467 hitting three doubles and a home run with six RBI's.
