NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State's Kristina Blair tossed her second consecutive two-hitter to lead the way to a 1-0 first game win over Lipscomb Thursday afternoon. The Lady Bisons bounced back to gain a split with a 7-3 win in the second game. The games were originally scheduled to be played at Lipscomb, but were moved to the TSU campus due to problems with Lipscomb's home field. Lipscomb served as the home team. Blair, who had allowed two hits in a 4-1 win over Belmont on Tuesday, went the distance, striking out five. Nirta Robbins doubled in the sixth inning and scored on Leena Worrell's single for the game's lone run in the sixth inning. In the second game, Lipscomb rebounded with 14 hits. After Lipscomb scored two runs in the first, TSU tied the game with a pair of runs in the third. The Lady Bisons broke the game open with four runs in the bottom half of the frame. Jennifer Cannon weas 3-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI. Niki Bails had a pair of RBI. Allison Tyree pitched the complete game for Lipscomb. Worrell was 3-for-4 with two RBI. Heather Ebersole was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI. TSU (4-20) hosts Southeast Missouri in a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series this weekend. Lipscomb is now 15-14.
