BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- A four-run third inning erased a 1-0 Tennessee State kead as host Samford completed an Ohio Valley Conference opening sweep over the Tigers Sunday afternoon with a 6-1 win. TSU led in all three games, this time 1-0 as the Tigers pushed across their lone run in the third inning. However, Samford responded with the four in the bottom of the inning and added single runs in both the four and fifth innings. The Tigers only had one less hit than Samford, but TSU committed three errors. For the second straight day, TSU starter Kristina Blair took a tough pitching loss. TSU will be on the road Tuesday when the Tigers face Tennessee Tech in Cookeville for a doubleheader..
