KISSIMMEE, Fla. --- The Tennessee State softball team began play in the Rebel Games on Sunday evening, dropping a pair of closely contested games. Making the trip to the Orlando, Fla., area for the game which annually attracts numerous programs from around the nation, TSU was edged by Wagner 4-2 and Loyola (Ill.) 3-2 in the team's first two games. Tarah Evanisko allowed two earned runs in six innings of work in the opener, but three errors proved costly for the Lady Tigers. Hollie Sanders first inning double accounted for two runs. Nira Robbins also doubled in four at-bats. In the game against Loyola, TSU out-hit its opponent for the second straight game, but came up on the short end of a one-run decision. Sanders had a double while Robbins was 2-for-3 with a triple. Rachel Sanders drove in both of the Tiger runs with a single. Kristina Blair allowed four hits in six innings and TSU got a perfect seventh inning from Brittani Phillips. TSU will play Monmouth and Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne in Monday action.
