CLARKSVILLE --- Tennessee State came up short in its scoring opportunities as the Tigers were shutout in a 3-0 and 6-0 doubleheader loss at Austin in Ohio Valley Conference play Friday evening. The Tigers did have eight hits in the opener, but stranded eight runner against APSU's pitcher Lydia Money. APSU pushed across two runs in the first and one more in the third to post the win. In the second game, the Tigers started the contest with three straight hits, but then had three straight strikeouts. Melissa, Tofft, Catriona Smith, and Shannon Hicks, the first three batters in TSU's lineup, combined for all five of TSU's hits in the second game. Austin Peay built a 4-0 lead after two innings and three of the team's first three runs were unearned. TSU (8-28, 4-11) plays at Middle Tennessee on Tuesday.
