CHATTANOOGA --- Tennessee State opened play in Chattanooga's Frost Classic Friday evening, losing to Akron 13-7 and then to host Chattanooga 9-1. In the opener against Akron, the Lady Tigers jumped to a 3-0 lead after their half of the first inning, but the Zips came back to grab a 7-1 lead after two innings. Akron had 14 hits in the game in moving its record to 3-1. Angela Huebner had a three-run homer for TSU and Shannon Hick went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI. The Tigers were held to five in the game against the Lady Mocs. Huebner's single scored Melissa Tofft in the third inning. Chattanooga scored five runs over the last two innings. TSU will play Marshall and Samford on Saturday and have games against Tennessee Tech and Western Kentucky on Sunday.
