MOREHEAD, Ky. --- Tennessee State dropped an Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader at Morehead State, losing the first game 9-2 and the nightcap 3-0, Saturday afternoon. The Tigers scored their only runs on the day in their first inning of game one to take a quick 2-0 lead. Melissa Tofft, who had four of the Tigers' six hits in the game, singled to open the game. Shannon Hicks had a RBI single in the frame and Natlie Rocha had an infield groundout to plate the second run. However, Morehead State came back with two runs in the bottom of the first and put the game away with a four-run sixth inning. In the second game, the Tigers were limited to three singles as Stephanie Hernandez posted the shutout. TSU freshman hurler Justine Jontz allowed just one earned runs and six hits in the defeat. The Tigers (6-21, 3-7) and Eagles (5-21-1, 2-3) will close the series with a single game Sunday afternoon.
