NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State fell just short in its comeback attempt as Tennessee-Martin held on for a 2-1 decision in the deciding game of a three-game series Sunday afternoon. UT Martin scored single runs in the second and fourth innings. Nicole Davis doubled and scored what proved to be the winning run on two consecutive throwing errors. TSU was held without a hit until the sixth inning. Dee Minor bunted and scored on Alana Thomas double. Kendra Kosco, the loser in game one of the series, retired the Tigers in order in the seventh inning. The Lady Tigers (4-16, 1-2) host Tennessee Tech Wednesday at 4 p.m.
