Antonio Bradford

Antonio Bradford joined the TSU staff in the fall of 2015 after spending ten seasons as an assistant coach at his Alma Mater, Alabama State University. He works with the tight ends and assists with the tackles for the Big Blue.

In 2016, Bradford helped in the training of All-American Jessamen Dunker who went on to sign a free agent contract with the New York Giants.

Working with the offensive line, Bradford’s unit opened the hole for the Hornet runners for a SWAC-leading 231.5 yards per game, good enough for 14th among the Football Championship Series (FCS) schools. Throughout his tenure, he also served as video coordinator, assistant recruiting coordinator, assistant head coach and interim head coach for ASU.

The former Hornet was a three-year starter at left guard from 2002 to 2004. His teams won back-to-back Eastern Division titles in 2003 and 2004, and won the ASU’s second SWAC football championship in 2004.

Bradford was a member of an offense that was the most prolific in America and featured – among others – former Alabama State standout Tarvaris Jackson, who went on to be drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round in 2006, and current member of Super Bowl XLVIII champion Seattle Seahawks.

Bradford, who began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at ASU, holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in general counseling. He and his wife, Faith, have one daughter, Autumn.
