Update to OVC Athletics Activities Policies

Released by Ohio Valley Conference

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Due to the on-going developments related to COVID-19 the Ohio Valley Conference previously announced that all team practices were suspended until April 3, 2020 and would be re-evaluated at that time.

After re-evaluation by the OVC Board of Presidents, the following policies become effective after April 3:

  • No in-person countable athletically related activities.
  • Physical virtual countable athletically related activities are not permissible. Coaches are not permitted to give virtual instruction, be present, conduct, etc. virtual physical activities. All physical workouts must be voluntary.
  • Nonphysical virtual athletic activities are permissible and must adhere to NCAA Division I regulations as if student-athletes were on campus and participating in out of season activities (e.g., 8 hours per week).

The main priority of the OVC is to ensure the safety of our student-athletes, coaches and administrators. We will continue to monitor all relevant information on the COVID-19 virus on a daily basis.
