The sole senior on TSU’s volleyball team, Rachel Henderson completed her final season in blue and white just like anyone from Texas would – big. The Fort Worth native earned a spot on the Ohio Valley Conference preseason team before a phenomenal season placed her on the First Team All-Conference. Henderson led the team in total, solo and assisted blocks, outpacing her junior season by 21 total blocks with two fewer matches on the schedule, and posted three consecutive double-doubles at the Chattanooga Classic, ending the season with six. Henderson graduated with honors, earning a bachelor of science in Human Performance and Sports Science. She shared her college experience with tsutigers.com.
TSUTigers: Talk about your overall TSU experience.
A: TSU made me grow up not only on the court but off too. I encountered a lot of situations that made me evaluate myself first. I needed that though, I got to see who I wanted to be, what crowd I wanted to be apart of and that alone is what I appreciate about being here. You kind of find yourself at an HBCU because you are allowed to be yourself.
