This Week in TSU Athletics - First Week of Classes

NASHVILLE --- The first action of the fall season has arrived as This Week in TSU Athletics features matches for volleyball and various events for the football team. 

On Tuesday night at 6 p.m., the Tennessee State volleyball team will host its annual Meet the Tigers event at the Faculty Dining Hall. The players will be introduced, take pictures with fans and sign posters.

Jumping ahead to Friday, the football team will honor its seniors with the Senior Kick-Off Luncheon at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville at 11 a.m. TSU’s nine seniors: Ronald Butler, Jessamen Dunker, Antonio Justice, Jr., David Kamara, Kevin Kenton, Dantwaun O’Neal, Ezra Robinson, Chris Sanders-McCollum and E.J. Junior, IV will be honored. The event will be streamed live on the OVC Digital Network. 

TSU's 2016 volleyball season officially gets underway with the ISTAP Collegiate Cup 1 in Montgomery, Ala. on Aug. 26-27. On Friday, the Tigers will take on Texas Southern at 10 a.m. and Jackson State at 4:30 p.m. The action will conclude on Saturday with matches against Alabama A&M (10 a.m.) and Alabama State (7 p.m.). 

Back on campus, the football team will host Fan Day at the Indoor Practice Facility at 1 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to meet the players, pick up schedule posters and get autographs from the players. The team is scheduled to play a scrimmage at Hale Stadium following the event.
