Effua Ampadu

Effua Ampadu enters her second year serving as the Throws coach for the Tennessee State track and field team in 2015-16.

Prior to joining the TSU coaching staff, Ampadu spent the previous years with the Ghana Olympic track and field team, in which she aided in the development of the throws program. She competed in the all African games in Benin, Africa as well as the African Championships in Mozambique, Africa.

Before she made team Ghana, she was a Golden Flash at Kent State University where she attended the institution for five years throwing the hammer and the weight throw. Ampadu helped lead the Kent State track and field team to two MAC Championships earning second place in the weight with a throw of 63 ft and third place in the hammer throw with a throw of 193 ft.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Ampadu graduated from Kent State University in the summer of 2010 with a BS in Exercise Science Physiology. Ampadu has certification in USATF Level I. In the summer of 2016, she will be attaining her Level II USATF Level II as well as her CSCS strength and conditioning certification.
