Price Snatches Long Jump Title at Paralympic Trials

Indianapolis, Ind. - Tennessee State University's Markeith Price won the long jump F13 category on Friday in the opening day of the U.S. Paralympics Track & Field Trials at the campus of Indiana University Purdue University - Indianapolis (IUPUI).

Price, who is legally blind, set a season-best in the F13 long jump category by leaping 20-6 ¼ (6.25m). Coming into the weekend, the Baltimore native ranked sixth in the International Paralympic Committee's (IPC) F13 long jump.

Price also holds top-10 marks in five other categories, including the world's top mark in the triple jump (13.32m). The senior competes in the other events on Saturday and Sunday.

Selections for the 2012 U.S. Paralympic Team will be announced on Sunday, July 1 at 5pm CT.
