Dameus Named OVC Field Athlete of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee State junior Clairwin Dameus was named OVC Female Field Athlete of the Week for her performance in last weekend's Gladstein Invitational.

Dameus was the top collegiate athlete and came in second overall with 3,685 points in the pentathlon. The point total ranks first in the OVC and 23rd in the country.

She won both the 60-meter hurdles (8.67) and the long jump (19’08) while coming in second in the 800 meters (2:29.89).

The Boynton Beach, Fla. native is the first Tigerbelle to win an athlete of the week award this season.

Flying Tiger Quamel Prince was named OVC Male Track Athlete of the Week on Jan. 14.
