SAAC, Athletics Go Green at OVC Indoor Championship

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee State Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) along with the Athletic Department wants to encourage the student body as well as the surrounding communities to Go Green.

With the Indoor Track and Field Championships scheduled to begin Friday, February 28th in the Gentry Center, this initiative will combine recycling efforts with the promotion of waste reduction.

Spectators are encouraged to bring plastic bottles or cans with them to the championship event – those that bring at least 15 bottles or cans to the event will receive an OVC reusable grocery tote and may also be eligible for a reduced admission. Campus SAAC members will have tables set up on the third level of the Gentry Center and the first level entrance near the ticket office collecting bottles and distributing tote bags.

OVC reusable grocery totes will also be available at the official championship merchandise table during each event.  Fans who purchase a minimum of $30 worth of championship merchandise will receive a reusable grocery tote free.  The grocery totes will also be available for purchase.

Please join our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in their efforts to bring a new color to OVC championships: Go Green.
