Track and Field Holds Blue and White Meet

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Flying Tigers and Tigerbelles kicked off their seasons Tuesday with the annual Blue and White Meet.

Both teams are coming off of fifth place finishes at the OVC Outdoor Championships in May, and used the meet as a warm-up for their upcoming indoor season.

Reigning Outdoor OVC Male Co-Field Athlete of the Year Royce Dates believes this year’s team has the potential to build upon last year’s success.

“As long as I’ve been here I’ve never seen a men’s and women’s team be so competitive,” said Dates. “So for me it’s an honor to see where everybody is after fall training and I think we’re going to have some big performances this season.”

Dates and the Tigers along with the Tigerbelles will begin their season on Dec. 3 when they travel across town for the Vanderbilt Invitational.
