Dameus Named Female of OVC Outdoor Championship

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Sophomore Clairwin Dameus was selected Female Athlete of the OVC Outdoor Championship, announced by the league office on Thursday.

Dameus led the Tigers in the meet by placing first in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.74), long jump (6.22 meters) and heptathlon (5,399 points).

In the final women’s events of the day, Dameus teamed up with Amber Hughes, Ashontae Jackson and Quanisha Sales to take home the 4x400 (3:39.99) and 4x100 (45.05) titles while also breaking the old Ohio Valley Conference records.

The award represents a clean sweep for Dameus as she was also chosen the Female Athlete of the Indoor Championship in March.

Dameus and her teammates will hit the road on May 16 for a last-chance NCAA qualifier in Atlanta, Ga.
