Middle Tennessee State Invitational up next for Flying Tigers

Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University Flying Tigers will make their third trip to Murfreesboro, Tenn. this season to compete in the Middle Tennessee State Invitational.

The meet is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State. The event will open with the long jump at 8:30 a.m. The competition is slated to end with 4x400m relay at 1:40 p.m.

The teams scheduled to compete include: Arkansas-Little Rock, Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and Vanderbilt.

TSU returns to the Murphy Center making their last appearance there two weeks ago in the Blue Raider Invitational. Michael Rideout picked up his first win of the season in the 400m while helping the 4x400m relay team to a third place finish. RECAP...

Last week, the team finished their home meet schedule in the TSU Invite. The Flying Tigers had a tough day on the track but managed a couple of stellar performances behind Arthur Combest and Avian Hughes.

Combest picked up a pair of third place finishes in the 55m hurdles and high jump. Hughes finished third in the standings in the long jump, but was the top collegiate award winner in the event. RECAP...

Next week, the Flying Tigers will close out the season when they return to MTSU to compete in the Valentine Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 12.
