Tigers Start Season with Two Second Finishes

Nashville, Tenn. - Junior Worlie Johnson, junior Jamal Henderson, and the 4x400-meter relay placed second in the MTSU Christmas Invitational.  The competition is the Tigers' first of the 2008-09 indoor season.

Johnson took third place in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.42 and Henderson placed second in the high jump clearing 6 feet 2 inches (1.87m). Th 4x400 A-team also finished second in a pool seven at 3:24.03.

After finishing seventh in the long jump with a mark of 22 feet 11.5 inches, junior Trenton Britt jumped a distance of 48-feet six inches in the triple jump to placing fourth overall. Anes Koko led the mid-distance squad finshing fourth in the 800-meter run at 1:58.50.

The Tigers will compete in the Ed Temple Classic on January 11th. The first event is scheduled to begin at  8 a.m.
