Tigers Close Regular Season with Top Three Finishes

Bowling Green, Ky. - The Tennessee State University men's track and field team closed out the regular outdoor season at the WKU Invitational in Bowling Green, Ky on Saturday (4/25).

The meet was hosted by Western Kentucky University at the Charles M. Ruter Track and Field Complex.

The Tigers spotlighted with a set of top-three finishes with Dwayne Johnson, Lequinn Davis and the 4x100-meter relay team collecting third place overall in their event.

Johnson placed third overall in the 100-meter dash at 11.42 seconds (-3.8 - wind). Johnson also finished fourth in the 200-meter at 22.92 seconds (-1.0 - wind).

Davis wrapped up the regular season placing third in the 200-meter dash posting 22.62 seconds (-1.0 - wind).

Johnson and Davis joined teammates, Darreal Beal and Julian Mallory, on the 4x100-meter relay team to finish the event in third place.

Next, the Tigers will compete in the 2009 OVC Outdoor Track and Field Championship hosted by Eastern Kentucky at the Tom Samuels Track in Richmond, Ky. The meet is scheduled for May 1-2, starting with the prelims in Friday and the finals concluding on Saturday.
