NASHVILLE --- The Fourth Annual Edward S. Temple Indoor Track Classic will be held Sunday (Jan. 11) at the Gentry Center. The meet begins at 8 a.m. and will continue throughout the day. The classic is named in honor of Edward S. Temple, the legendary coach of the TSU Tigerbelles and the United State Olympic team. Tigerbelle coach and meet director Chandra Cheeseborough says the meet will feature outstanding athletes and competition. Along with the TSU men's and women's teams, other teams confirmed earlier in the week were Alabama A&M, Belmont, Florida A&M, Grambling State, Jackson State, Alcorn State, Mississippi Valley State, Austin Peay, Southern, Kentucky State, Tennessee Tech, and Edward Waters. "As a team, we are ready to get started in full force with our indoor season," said Cheeseborough. "We have had some nagging injuries, but it is something that we work through." The meet will begin with the mile run at 8 a.m. A total of 18 events will be held with the final event of the day the 4x400-meter relay.
