LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. --- The Tennessee State Tigerbelles won their first cross country meet of the fall season by claiming the Covenant Invitational over the weekend in a seven-team field. The Tigerbellles had a total team score of 42. Senior Monique Demmons was second overall among the runners with a time of 21:08 on the 5-K course. Crystal Ewell had a time of 22:03 to finish seventh. Juanita Thomas netted a 10th place finish with a time of 22:16 while Rae’ven Thomas was 11th with a time of 22:24 and Kristin Bennett posted a time of 22:29 to finish 14th. TSU finished 10 point ahead of Covenant’s 52 points. Sewanee was third with a time of 59. The Tigerbelles will return to action this weekend in the Vanderbilt Invitational. ### 9/16/02/lw
