Men's Tennis Drops Monday Night Match to Wichita State

NASHVILLE - The Tennessee State men's tennis team fell to the Wichita State Shockers, 7-0 Monday evening at the Currey Tennis Center.

The Shockers quickly clinched the doubles points with wins on courts one and two. Stefan Koruga and Leandros Misdrachis fought for a single set point, eventually falling to Andrea Caligiana and Stefan Latinovic, 6-1 at the top spot. Kato Richardson and Larry Sloan were down, 5-2 when Wichtia clinched the point, leaving the final doubles match unfinished.

Mid-year transfer Juan Carlos Rojas Antezana challanged Marius Frosa on court three, putting up the toughest fight for TSU in singles play. Frosa defeated the freshman from Chiclayo, Peru, 6-3, 6-4.

The men's team join the women as the Tigers take on Mississippi Valley State this Friday and Saturday back at the Currey Tennis Center.
