STARTING SERVE: In their second trip to Memphis this spring, the Tennessee State men’s and women’s tennis teams will take on LeMoyne-Owen in a mid-week match, Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT: The Tigers hosted its first home match at the Currey Tennis Center on the campus of Vanderbilt University against the Rhodes Lynx. Big Blue pulled out wins on both sides, men (4-3) women (6-1), giving the Lynx their first loss of the spring campaign. Freshman Tanishq Mahendru went undefeated in his first dual match as a Tiger, claiming the sole doubles win for the men alongside senior Shashank Nautiyal, 6-2, and a three set win over Rhodes’ Sairam Gudiseva, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 at No. 6. The women rolled over Rhodes as they clinched the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3, followed by wins across five singles courts.  

UP NEXT: The men’s tennis team will compete against Southeastern Conference team Vanderbilt Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Currey Tennis Center at 9 am, and again at noon. The women’s team will join the men Sunday afternoon back at the Currey Tennis Center to take on Alabama State.
