COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State men’s tennis team lost by a 7-0 final score versus Tennessee Tech on the road at the Adams Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.

TTU, won the doubles point before earning wins in the six singles matches.

“Today was tough for the guys,” TSU Head Coach Monroe Walker III said. “We looked a little tired from the Belmont match. I rested two starters today and we need players to step up when called upon. Grant was back from injury and played the best in singles. We need to rest up and have a great day tomorrow.”

In doubles, Grant Maddox and Matthew Brown played hard at the top doubles spot, falling by a 6-2 final score to Eduardo Mena and Marcos Bernardes. Kyle Burton and Tom Parant were down 4-3 at No. 2 doubles in a match that went unfinished.

Maddox was competitive at the No. 5 singles match in a 6-4, 6-4 loss to Guillermo Nicolas, while Parant lost by scores of 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.

TSU is back in action tomorrow morning on the road at Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala.
