Golden Eagles Shut Out Tigers

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee State did not win a point vs. defending OVC regular season champion Tennessee Tech on Saturday.

Despite losing 7-0, Daniel Bernal of TSU made it close with Syrym Abdukhalikov of Tech (1-9, 1-0 OVC) at #1 Singles taking the first set 6-3. Abdukhalikov bounced back to capture the second set 7-5 before winning the rubber match, the third and final set, 10-6.

Bernal, along with Branden McClain would drop the #1 Doubles decision to Abdukhalikov and Alejandro Augusto 8-3.

The Tigers (0-2, 0-1 OVC) are back in action on Sunday at they travel to Alabama to take on conference foe Jacksonville State.
