SIUE Too Much For The Tigers
Saturday, March 30, 2013
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee State tennis fell to SIU-Edwardsville on Friday as the men lost 4-0, while the women were shutout 5-0.

The only men's Singles match that went two full sets was a #2 where Jacob Perkins of SIUE defeated Branden McClain 6-0, 6-2. The TSU duo of McClain and Daniel Bernal played Jacob Tanulanond and Stephen Washuta close before dropping an 8-4 decision.

TSU's Shardel Suber lost to Monique Krutak in straight sets 6-1, 6-0 at #1 Singles. London Thomas of the Tigers had a similar result at #2 Singles losing 60, 6-1 to Kali Donner.

"As a team we have got to transfer all the things that we work on in practice into our matches," said head coach Robert Cain. "Daniel Bernal is making expected freshman mistakes but I can see he is trying to apply some of the things that we have talked about into his matches. Jared Asher is also showing improvement in doubles which makes me happy."

The men and women return to action on Saturday as they take on Eastern Illinois for a scheduled 11 a.m. match
