Tiger Tennis Drops Pair to Austin Peay

Forced inside the Hadley Park Bubble due to threats of bad weather, the Tennessee State tennis teams dropped a pair of shortened matches to Austin Peay State on Sunday, February 27, 2011.

In men's action, the Tiger netters dropped a 4-1 decision to the Governors. Men's #1, Lawrence Washington was the only TSU player to record a win when his match halted in the third set due to overall match points (6-4, 0-6, 5-3).

In women's action, TSU lost 5-0. Number 5 singles player, Kwatema Mensah, gained a game point, while losing her match in straight sets (6-1, 6-0).

The TSU women's tennis team will return to action on Friday March 4th when they play at Southeast Missouri State. The men's team will next play in the Springfest Tournament, March 7-12,  in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
