DICKSON, Tenn. --- Tennessee State matched its second round score to finish seventh at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate. The 9-over, 297, allowed the Tigers to place ahead of Ohio Valley Conference opponents Belmont, Tennessee Tech and Eastern Illinois.

Jermey Fultz made a charge over the final six holes of the round to finish with an Even, 72. The score allowed him to finish tied with fellow Tiger Scotty Hudson in 26th, with a 7-over, 223. Hudson fired a 2-over, 74, on the final day and teamed with Fultz, Rosario Falzone and Kody Rendleman to score for TSU.

After not posting a scoring round for the Tigers on Monday, Falzone equaled Hudson with a 74, ahead of Rendleman’s 77. Tyminski missed out on scoring for the first time this season (12 rounds) with a 7-over, 79.

Drew Owens came back from rough first round for back-to-back solid rounds. Playing as an individual, Owens followed up his 72 in round two with a 2-over, 74 on Tuesday. Jay Grove closed out his first competition of the year with a 4-over, 76.

Jermey Fultz (Started on Hole 10)

  • Birdied the par-5, 12th, to sit 1-under through the first four holes of the day
  • Four bogeys over the next eight holes moved the senior to 3-over with six holes to play
  • One-putted the final six holes, recording three birdies and three pars to finish the round at Even
  • Had back-to-back birdies on No. 4 and No. 5
  • Hit 9-iron from 148 yards out to eight feet setting up the first on the par-4, 4th
  • Knocked a wedge from 82 yards to 12 feet on the par-4, 5th
  • Birdied the second last hole of the round, the par-4, 8th

Scotty Hudson (Hole 9)

  • Opened the final round with a birdie on the par-5, 9th
  • Fell to 1-over with consecutive bogeys on 12 and 13
  • Posted two pars on each side of a birdie on the par-3, 16th, to move back to Even
  • After a double bogey on the par-4, 1st
  • Fought back with birdies on No. 2 and No. 5
  • Tee shot on par-4, 5th, found the middle of the fairway before knocking the approach shot six feet from the flag
  • Drained the slight downhill putt to move back to Even through 15

John Tyminski (Hole 8)

  • Converted an up-and-down on his second hole of the day, the par-5, 9th, for birdie
  • Chipped in for par on the par-4, 10th
  • Hit a flop shot on the par-4, 1st, to help save par

Kody Rendleman (Hole 10)

  • Carded back-to-back birdies on 12 and 13 after a bogey on the second hole of the day
  • Hit a 54-degree wedge to 18 inches on the par-4, 13th, for a tap in putt

Rosario Falzone (Hole 11)

  • Bounced back from a slow start to finish 2-over on the day
  • Bogeyed three of the first six holes
  • Remained at 3-over through the first nine holes of the final round
  • Birdied the par-5, 2nd, after hitting a wedge from 60 yards out off the flagstick
  • Made a seven foot putt to cut a stroke to 2-over
  • Hit wedge from 87 yards out on the par-4, 5th, to five feet to set up a birdie to move to 1-over

Drew Owens (I) (Hole 16)

  • Birdied the third hole of the day, the par-4, 18th
  • Hit driver to 170 yards, before knocking approach shot onto the bottom left side of the green
  • Sank a 30 foot uphill putt above the hole that broke right in the final foot to move to 1-under
  • Remained 1-under through seven holes before a double bogey on the par-4, 5th
  • Moved back to Even two holes later with a birdie on the par-4, 7th
  • Pared the next five holes until back-to-back bogey’s on 13 and 14

Jay Grove (I) (Hole 17)

  • Played the first seven holes of the day at 1-under
  • Birdied the par-4, 4th
  • Hit a 4-iron out of the weeds to a foot of the pin
  • Finished with 12 pars on the day

UP NEXT: The Tigers will return to action on Oct. 30 at the MTSU Intercollegiate. The one-day, 36-hole event will be the last tournament for the fall portion of the schedule. The Old Fort Golf Course in Murfreesboro, Tenn. will be the site for the competition.
