MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – The Tennessee State men’s golf team dropped two spots to tenth place at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship. The Tigers posted a 311 on day two for a combined 44-over, 620, as they head into the final day of the tournament.

UT Martin holds the team lead at 7-over, 583, and is four strokes ahead of Jacksonville State and Eastern Kentucky.

Will Sallee of EKU fired a 68 on Tuesday to take the individual lead at 4-under and holds a one stroke lead over day one leader Hunter Richardson (UTM).

The Tigers Jermey Fultz continued to lead TSU after carding a 1-over, 73, and is now 4-over for the championship and tied for ninth, three strokes out of the top five. Fultz has been paced by his play on the par-4’s over the two days. He has now played the 20 holes at 1-under for the championships.

Fultz earned four birdies on the day, notching his first on the par-4, 4th. The sophomore hit his second shot from the right side fairway bunker to a foot of the hole to set up a tap in putt for his second consecutive birdie. On the par-4, 8th, Fultz once again found the fairway bunker off the tee. He stuck his second shot on the green setting up a 20-foot putt for birdie.Fultz recorded his fourth birdie on the final hole of the day. The Knoxville, Tenn. native used a 6-iron off the box landing 25 feet from the flag. Fultz knocked down the putt to finish 1-over on the day.

The Tigers added scoring rounds from Drew Owens, Todd McGill and Sam Gatlin. Owens shot his second consecutive 6-over, 78, as he hit 12 fairways and used 38 putts. Owens drained a 45 foot putt on the par-4, 15th.

McGill registered his lone birdie of the round on the par-4, 16th. McGill hit a wedge shot to six feet to enter the clubhouse at 7-over, 79. The junior found 13 greens and hit 10 fairways.

Gatlin picked up birdies on No. 2 and No. 12 to card an 81. Rosario Falzone put up a non-scoring 86 on day two as he hit 12 fairways, nine greens and used 35 putts. The freshman knocked a pitching wedge from 135 yards to two feet, setting up a birdie on the par-4, 7th.

The final round will begin on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. with Falzone taking to the course. Gatlin hits the course at 8:10 a.m., while McGill tees off at 8:20 a.m., Owens at 8:30 a.m. and Fultz at 8:40 a.m.
