JONESBORO, Ark. – Tennessee State men’s golf team completed play on Sunday at the 19th Annual Arkansas State Red Wolves Intercollegiate. The Tigers placed 16th out of 21 teams as they played 54-holes at the Par-71, 6,585 yard, RidgePointe Country Club.
TSU opened with an 18-over, 305, and was positioned in 11th after the first round. The Tigers fell off a bit in the second round shooting a 310 and dropping back four spots. The final round was a repeat of the initial outing for the Tigers with another 305.
Freshman Jermey Fultz led the way for the Tigers placing 46th in the field of 114 golfers. Fultz (76-78-74=228) finished 14-over for the tournament. Senior James Stepp (79-79-73) carded a 231 for an 18-over.
Sophomore Todd McGill (80-77-77=234) helped the Tigers by scoring in the second and third rounds, while Matt Campbell (75-81-81=237) scored in the first and third rounds.
Campbell carded the low score in the opening round along with freshman Andy Stout with a 4-over, 75. Stout (75-76-86=237) finished the two-day event at 24-over.
The Tigers will host the Big Blue Intercollegiate at the Hermitage Golf Course beginning on Monday, Apr. 13.
