McGrath Inks Drew Owens For Men's Golf
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State men’s golf coach Parrish McGrath announced the signing of Drew Owens.
“I think Drew will provide an instant impact for our team,” McGrath said. “Watching him play this summer, I saw someone who can hit every shot in the bag. He has proven he can keep a round under par which will be a great compliment to our returners”
The Atlanta, Ga. native enters his senior season as a three-time letter-winner at St. Pius X Catholic High School.  As a sophomore, Owens finished 11th, helping to lead his team to a third place finish at the State Tournament.  Owens won the 6-AAA Region Championship with an Even, 72, and led St. Pius X to a second consecutive third place finish at the Georgia State Championships in 2013-14.
Owens posted three top-5 finishes on the Southeastern Junior Tour, including a second place finish at the Furman Classic. In September, Owens placed fifth at the Southeastern Junior Golf Tournament, highlighted by a first round 2-under, 70.
Owens will join the Tigers for the 2015-16 season.
