TSU Men's Golf retuns to action for the F&M Bank Intercollegiate

Nashville, Tenn. --- The men's golf team will return to action this Sunday when they travel to Hopkinsville, Ky. for the F&M Bank Intercollegiate hosted by Austin Peay State.

The tourney will be held at the 6,886-yard, par-72 Links at Novadell Golf Course which has become one of the western Kentucky's premier golf courses. 

Practice rounds are scheduled for Sunday (10/17) with the men playing two 18-hole rounds on Monday (10/18), followed by one 18-hole round, Tuesday (10/19). Monday's play will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CDT.

The pool of 17 men's teams set to compete includes last year's tourney winner, Eastern Kentucky (5-under-par 859), and squads from Ohio Valley Conference members Austin Peay State, Murray State, UT Martin, Tennessee Tech, SIU Edwardsville, Jacksonville State, Eastern Illinois, and Morehead State.

Other teams slated to compete:  Belmont, Towson, Troy, Samford, Oakland, Western Illinois, and Bowling Green.

Ryan Smith leads the team  playing in three events of the season posting a 76.2 (4-over) and one top-ten finish. Richard Gill and Andrew Warner follow on the team's stat sheet playing six rounds total in three events o the year. Gill posts a 76.8 average (5-over) and Warner holds a 77.3 average (6-over) rounding out TSU's top three players.

In the intercollegiate last season, TSU finished 15th recording an overall stroke count of 896. (78-68-72) led the Tigers with a tournament total of 218 with an 18th place finish. recorded a score of 224 (73-73-78) and placed 50th for TSU.Ryan SmithRichard Gill

In their last time out, TSU placed 7th at the Rees Jones Intercollegiate (10/5) shooting 82-over-par from total rounds of 323, 316, and 307 for an overall score of 946.

The Tigers were led by senior who finished in the top ten in the individual rankings with an 11-over par 227.Ryan Smith

Next, TSU will return to play when they travel to Edwardsville, Ill. to compete in the SIU Edwardsville Fall Classic hosted by SIU Edwardsville. The tournament is scheduled to start on October 24 and will round up the fall season for the Tigers.
