NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University junior Robert Dinwiddie has been named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for the second time this spring for his play in the Tigers' recent tournaments. Dinwiddie helped lead the Tigers to a come-from-behind win in the 19-team Belmont Invitational, which concluded Tuesday afternoon at the Legends Club of Tennessee. Dinwiddie had rounds of 73, 68, and 67 to finish with a five-under par 208 as TSU erased a five-stroke deficit going into the final round to win the tournament and set a tournament record with a 54-hole team total of 851. In last weekend's East Carolina Bradford Tournament, Dinwiddie posted a ninth-place finish with a two-under 214 in a field of 21 teams. The junior from Barnard Castle, England captured medalist honors for the second time this spring in a tournament with his performance at Belmont. He had earlier won the Samford Invitational Tournament and was named both OVC and Golfweek National Player of the Week for his play that week. Dinwiddie leads the OVC in stroke average, carrying a 70.9 average in 13.5 rounds played this spring. The announcement of Dinwiddie's honor comes from the OVC office located in Brentwood.
