EASTOVER, La. --- The Tennessee State golf team posted the third best score of any team in the final round of the University of New Orleans Methodist Sportscare Tournament to come back and finish in a fourth place tie. The Tiger golfers shot an opening round of 306 and came back on the final day with a 294 to finish with a 600 to be tied with Tulane and Belmont. Only host and tournament winner New Orleans and second place finisher Southeast Missouri had better scores on the final day than the Tigers. UNO edged Southeast by one stroke to win the tournament with a 585. Missouri-Kansas City was third with a 598. Finishing seventh was Jackson State 603, followed by Nicholls State 605, Southern Illinois 608, Southern Illinois II 617, Siena 618, Birmingham Southern 620, Alcorn State 631, and New Orleans II 633. Robert Searle finished in a ninth place tie with a 146. Robert Dinwiddie finished in a tie for 11th with a 147. Other TSU scores were Stu Michaels 153, Darragh Lanihan 154, and Fraser Inglis shot an 80 in playing the final round. The Tigers will continue their busy start to the spring season by playing in East Carolina's Invitational March 28-29.
