Oteia Prince Posts Best Time at Tigerbelles Dual
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In the first home meet on the campus of Tennessee State Tigerbelles sophomore Oteia Prince posted the top time of 13:23.59.
Prince a sophomore from Antioch, Tenn. took an early lead in the race and was able to lead throughout the 2-mile course. The time Prince posted was 31 seconds faster than the nearest competitor.
“It’s a good start, Oteia is running really well right now,” cross country coach Chandra Cheeseborough-Guice said. “So we’re excited about her time.”
Junior Diera Taylor finished in fourth with a time of 14:17.09. While sophomores Michelle Bradley (14:53.51) and Jasmine Owens (14:59.38) placed eighth and ninth respectively, followed closely by senior Breanna Adams with a time of 15:00.38.
Ashontae Jackson (15:59.60), India Smith (16:49.47) and Latoya Harze (18:25.69) rounded out the field for TSU.
Alabama A&M would narrowly down the Tigerbelles 23-32 in the dual.
Both Tennessee State’s men’s and women’s cross country teams return to action next Saturday as they travel to the Rhoades College Cross Country Invitational.
