NASHVILLE --- After a phenomenal season in the NBA G League playing for the Long Island Nets and a 10-day call up to the Brooklyn Nets, former TSU men’s basketball standout Tahjere McCall (Philadelphia, Pa.) will suit up for the Atlanta Hawks for the 2019 NBA Summer League.

The Hawks’ Summer League team is scheduled to compete July 6-15 in Las Vegas, Nevada, with games airing on ESPN2 and NBA TV. 

Each team will play four games  in the preliminary round and the top eight seeded teams will participate in a single elimination tournament on the basis of the results of the preliminary round. The tournament will consist of three single elimination rounds to determine the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League Champion.

McCall was the runner up for G League Defensive Player of the Year averaging 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game, helping his team to compete against the Vipers in its first G League championship.

In his time with the Tigers, McCall, who won Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and a senior, led TSU to a 37-24 record in his two seasons in Nashville. The native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, posted 14.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.8 steals per game during his senior season in 2016-17.
