Brentwood, Tenn. --- Tennessee State men’s basketball guard Donte Fitzpatrick-Dorsey (DFD) earned a place on the All-OVC Second Team, as announced by the conference office today.

The redshirt junior ranks in the top 15 in the OVC in four different statistical categories including 12th in scoring (14.3 ppg), 13th in defensive rebounds (4.2 rpg), 14th in free throw percentage (.741 – 83-of-112) and 15th in rebounding (5.4 rpg).

  • DFD scored in double figures 20 times this season, including six games notching 20+ points.
  • Fitzpatrick-Dorsey led the Tigers in scoring 13 times, rebounding six times and assists four times.
  • Throughout the season, the Memphis, Tennessee native earned two Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week awards, once Nov. 12 after putting up 26 points in his TSU debut on Nov. 10 at Lipscomb, and again Dec. 17 by scoring 23 points versus NC A&T, adding seven boards.
  • The guard finished the year with a team-high 371 points, despite missing four games throughout.
  • Defensively, DFD ranks second in rebounding for the Tigers, finishing the season with 108 defensive and 32 offensive rebounds.
  • This marks the first all-conference selection for first-year head coach Brian “Penny” Collins.
  • DFD’s selection marks the 34th all-conference selection for TSU since joining the OVC prior to the 1987-88 season.
