OPENING TIP: The Tennessee State men’s basketball team begins its four-game road trip with Cal State Northridge Tuesday night in The Matadome. Big Blue takes the black top in efforts to secure its first road win of the season. The trip to Northridge, Calif. marks the farthest of the schedule as the university campuses sit 2,020.9 miles apart.

LAST TIME OUT: Head Coach Brian “Penny” Collins earned his first Battle of Jefferson Street and second overall win of his TSU career as the Tigers cruised to a 113-61 victory over Fisk Saturday night in the Gentry Center. The Tigers are shooting 38 percent from long range on the year, recording a team-best 19 threes over Fisk, led by redshirt junior Tripp Davis with six. Big Blue held a 63-27 halftime edge over the Bulldogs, cruising to its first 100+ point game since the 2013 Battle of Jefferson Street.

ALL-TIME SERIES: TSU is 1-0 in the all-time series versus CSUN, beating the Matadors in overtime 75-72 at a tournament in Las Vegas, Nov. 2006.

UP NEXT: TSU heads back to Rupp Arena for the first time since 2008, Friday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m.
