NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State men’s basketball team will host local opponent Fisk for an exhibition game on Nov. 3 at the Gentry Center prior to the start of the regular season, Head Coach Dana Ford announced on Thursday.

"We understand that the TSU-Fisk rivalry means a lot to our local community and fan base," Ford said. "We have a tremendous amount of respect for the student-athletes and coaches at Fisk University. Our student-athletes are looking forward to competing against them this upcoming season."

TSU and Fisk have faced off 19 times in regular season games with the Tigers holding a 16-3 lead in the all-time series. In last year’s meeting between the two sides, TSU earned a 72-50 victory over the Bulldogs to improve to 2-1 on the season. Fisk, which is located just over a mile from TSU's campus, competes at the NAIA level.

In addition to the exhibition game versus Fisk, TSU will play 12 regular season home games at the Gentry Center beginning with a Nov. 26 meeting with Reinhardt.
