Friday will be a great opportunity for fans to get an inside look into the 2011-12 Tigers. Many preseason media prognostications are predicting the Big Blue to finish in the top-4 in the OVC.

Among the student-athletes that have been recognized this preseason include All-OVC selection Robert Covington. Last season, Covington averaged 13.4 points per game and a team-best 7.5 rebounds. The junior from Bellwood, Ill., ranked first on the team with a 50 percent shooting percentage and is just 231 points away from reaching the 1,000 points club.

He notched five double-doubles and reached double-figures in 23 contests. This preseason, Moore was recognized as preseason second team All-OVC by College Sports Madness.

Patrick Miller, the reigning OVC Freshman of the Year, returns to the Tigers after posting an average of 11.4 points per game. The Chicago native dished out 89 assists and picked up 42 steals in his rookie campaign with the Tigers.

Returning for his senior season will be Nashville native Wil Peters. The guard led tallied 10.5 points per game and led Tennessee State with 125 assists last season. Peters made 40 three-pointers last season and notched a team-best free throw percentage of 85.1.

Michael Green returns as a starting forward, leading the Tigers with 52 blocks. He averaged 4.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Tashan Fredrick and Chris Conner return with game experience last season.

The Tigers welcome in three transfers that will be eligible to play this season: Muniru Bawa (Indiana), Jordan Cyphers (Utah) and Kellen Thornton (Illinois State). MJ Rhett will also play this season after redshirting in 2010-11.

Three freshmen also join the team this year including Kharon Butcher, Jay Harris and Taylor Ward. Guard DeShawn Dockery will sit out this season due to the NCAA transfer rule after transferring from Farleigh Dickinson.
