Miller again named OVC Freshman of the Week

Nashville, Tenn. - Tennessee State University's Patrick Miller earned his second-straight Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honor after averaging 15.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals/game in three contests last week.

Miller started the week by scoring 16 points and grabbing six rebounds as the Tigers topped city rival Fisk 85-50. Miller also closed out the week by scoring 16 points, in the loss at Air Force on Saturday.

In between those two games, he had 14 points, three rebounds and four steals in a road loss to Illinois State. It one stretch of that game, Miller scored seven-straight points, to help cut into a 17-point halftime deficit. He hit 13-of-15 (86.7%) from the free throw line for the week. In the games between Illinois State and Air Force, Miller was held scoreless in the first half.

Currently, he is second on the team in scoring averaging 14.8 ppg and 3.3 rebounds per game.
