Tigers Back in Action Against Southeast Missouri

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee State University men’s basketball team will look to continue their win streak when they host Southeast Missouri State in conference action on Thursday, February 26 in the Gentry Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Tigers (10-17, 7-9) have won their last four games including a 78-75 win against University of Detroit in the ESPNU Bracketbusters last Saturday while clinching an OVC playoff berth early that week.

TSU is 6-6 at home on the season while defeating SEMO earlier this year at the Show Me Center, 83-72. The win on December 6, 2008 gave the Tigers their first road and OVC win of the season.The Tigers hold the series edge, 17-16.

TSU's offense is anchored by Gerald Robinson, Jr. (17.2 ppg), Jerrell Houston (13.6 ppg) and Darius Cox (10.1 ppg). Houston and Cox each lead the team in rebounds with 6.9 boards per game apiece.

The Redhawks (3-25, 0-16 OVC) are coming of a 97-73 loss to Northern Illinois and posted their last win on December 21, 2008 against Western Illinois. They are led by the triple scoring tandem of Kenard Moore (18.6 ppg), Calvin Williams (16.5 ppg) and Jaycen Herring (16.1 ppg).

The Tigers will close out the regular season when they host Eastern Illinois on Senior Night and Courtside Dining, Saturday, February 28th. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
