Houston, Gaiter and Evans to Play in Music City All Star Classic

Nashville, Tenn. - Men’s basketball seniors Jerrell Houston, Emanuel Gaiter and Stephen Evans will represent Tennessee State in the 2nd Annual Music City All Star Classic on Saturday, April 18th, at the Curb Event Center on the campus of Belmont University. The event is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.

The Classic will kick-off with a three-point shootout and slam dunk contest.

The Music City All-Star Classic highlights the state of Tennessee’s top college basketball seniors. The Classic, in its second year, will feature players from Middle Tennessee State, UT Chattanooga, East Tennessee State, Trevecca and Cumberland.

In addition to Tennessee State, the Ohio Valley Conference will have players participating from Austin Peay and Tennessee Tech. Players from Atlantic Sun rival schools, Belmont and Lipscomb, will also participate in the all-star event.

In addition to the TSU representatives, Alex Renfroe (Belmont), Andy Wicke (Belmont) and Courtney Pigram (ETSU) will be among others whose talents will be on display.

Mark Pittman, former assistant and interim men’s basketball coach at TSU, will coach one of the all-star teams. Pittman led TSU to a 6-2 record in their last eight games down the stretch this past season.

Last year’s inaugural Music City All Star Classic featured top seniors such as: Andre Allen (Memphis), Alex Gordon (Vanderbilt), JaJuan Smith (Tennessee) and Justin Hare (Belmont).
