Tigers Resume Conference Play Against Murray State

Nashville, Tenn. - In a rematch of last year's OVC Championship second round, the Tennessee State University men's basketball team will head to Murray, Ky. to face the Racers of Murray State. The game is scheduled for Thursday night, 7:30 p.m. inside the Regional Special Events Center.

The game will be broadcast on the Big Blue Sports Network (WVOL-1470 AM, WMRB-910 AM, WOJG-94.7 FM)  and

The Tigers (5-9, 3-1 OVC) are on a two-game win streak and have won their last three conference games. Murray State leads the series, 36-15, with the Tigers winning the last two games, including an 83-75 upset in the second round of the 2008 OVC Championship.

Gerald Robinson, Jr. (18.5 ppg) and Jerrell Houston (14.1 ppg) lead the Tigers in scoring. OVC Freshman of the Week, Parker Smith (8.4 ppg), is coming off back-to-back double-digit games in which he scored a total of 41 points.

Murray State (6-7, 1-2 OVC) are victims of a three-game skid but are 3-0 this season on home turf. The Racers are led by Preseason ALL-OVC Team member, Danero Thomas (11.5 ppg).
